Review: Bellamy and the Brute

Bellamy and the Brute Bellamy and the Brute by Alicia Michaels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Old Tale, New Twist

This book is like no other fairy tale retelling I have ever read before and that is certainly saying something.

I was intrigued by the quick plot synopsis but boy, was that just the tip of the iceberg. There is really much more to the story than meets the eye and a lot of it I really didn't expect when I started reading it, which was really refreshing and an awesome way to splice a few genres together.

The heroine Bellamy is kind, sassy and knows her mind, a typical Beauty. Tate is wounded and surly, with a temper, a typical Beast with dark secrets. Together though they are so much more and their story has its own surprising twists and turns that often keep you guessing and at the edge of your seats.

The story didn't lag, I didn't find myself getting bored or skipping a few filler pages. The characters were well rounded, not two dimensional and I enjoyed their believable development throughout the story.

I picked this book expecting one thing but was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events and the direction it took me in. I wonder if this is the last that we hear of Tate and Bellamy, that duo can face anything.
